As you can see, the shell now has a lot more body (look at those sleeves sticking out - looks RTW already). I interfaced and under-lined each piece. The under-lining is a Christmas flannel that a very good friend sent to me when she was clearing out some of her fabric stash. This may not have been what she intended for it's use, but I really believe in using what I have on hand.
Inside lining:
My next obstacle came in the form of my toggles. These are some fabulous vintage toggles that I bought from AddVintage's shop on Etsy. May I just tell y'all how much I love Etsy? I lurves it!! As you can see the holes are tiny. Standard buttonhole size - big enough for a needle with thread but not big enough for the leather cording I bought to use as closures. I went outside to the shed, pulled down the drill and a drill bit and went to town. Going at a slow pace, I drilled a bigger hole in each toggle.
| This one ended up chipping just a bit - I did a better job with the other two. |
The rest of the construction was done as the pattern instructs.

BTW, if you're wondering what that pink thing is and why Debra looks like she's been scalped? Rachael played hair-dresser this morning, she pulled all of Debra's hair back and then stuck a pink feather in her hair. I'm going to have to scan some photos of my brother Matt and I at this age - Debra's smile looks just like ours.
Final thoughts:
Wow! I glad this project is finally done. I absolutely love it and Debra loves the pockets.
If I were to make this again, I would probably add a third velcro patch at the top somewhere and maybe a drawstring to the hood. Maybe.
