Did You Miss Me?

It has been way too hectic to even think about sewing this month!

First, the girls and I had to deliver Girl Scout Cookies. We spent three days taking orders and then three weeks delivering. There were 61 cases of cookies (at 12 boxes per case - 732 total), stacked up inside of my house. I really wish I had a picture of them all but my camera decided to go on strike and had to be sent in for repair.

Then I had to start planning for Hannah's 11th birthday party. Every year we choose a theme and do activities to go along. This years theme was a relaxing spa party. It was just soooo much fun. I found all kinds of recipes online here that used ingredients that I already had in my pantry.

We started off by making rainbow fruity bath salts. The girls made their own labels and then poured the salts into flip-top jars. Then it was onto the eating - pizza, of course.

Our next activity was to decorate flip-flops with beads. I was a little disappointed with this, I thought that all you needed to do was use a hot glue gun to attach the beads, that was a mistake. With a little trial and error (and the internet), I did figure it out. What you have to do is wrap ribbon around the plastic straps and then glue the beads to the ribbon.

Then we ate cake and opened presents. While the adults cleaned up the kitchen the girls danced and did karoke in the living room. They were just so cute.

Finally we got to the really good part! We set up two stations in the living room, and we gave all of the girls pedicures and manicures. For the pedicures we soaked their feet and after cutting nails and filing them, I used a beach sand foot scrub to exfoliate. Hannah had to be held down, she was laughing so hard, all of the girls feet were ticklish. I followed up with a massage on their legs and my niece nearly fell asleep while I was doing her legs.

A friend of mine was nice enough to come over and help give manicures. I don't know what I would have done without her! For the manicures, we soaked their hands, cut and filed their nails. To exfoliate their hands, we used a strawberry scrub, and then gave a arm and hand massage.

After that we applied a chocolate facial mask to each girls face and placed cucumbers over their eyes. Talk about funny!

All in all, I don't know how relaxing it was for the girls but I slept like a log this morning.
Maybe I will get to do some sewing this month. We'll see.
