This Simplicity 2774, one of the new Khaliah Ali patterns. I absolutely love this dress! Love, love, love it! It's made from a poly microfiber/viscose/lycra mix bought from SawyerBrook Fabrics. I've added a modesty panel made from a bronzy colored knit (the shirt has been cut out but not sewn). The sleeves are way too long for short armed me. Hemmed and everything they were at my fingertips. I cut the sleeves to wrist length (a total of 6").
One thing that I do recommend you do. I always use my serger for everything knit and it normally handles whatever I throw at it. But it didn't want to sew all of the layers of fabric from the pleats along the sleeves and the bodice/skirt front. I decided to straight stitch along the seam line and again 1/4" from the edge. This made it much easier to serge through.
I like the length of this dress but I'm not sure if I like the length with the jacket over it. Give me your opinion please: leave it long or cut off about 6" to make it lower calf?
BTW, I'm in my 20Th week and really starting to show.
